  • Application

The in-process detailed planning becomes increasingly important for production. The reasons are manifold: on the one hand frequent relaunches and individualized products reduce lot sizes and, on the other hand, market pressure increases. As a result, orders across all process stages are multiplying and raw and packaging materials are extensively called off from suppliers. This does not only increase complexity in detailed planning, but also the costs for retooling and cleaning activities, product inspections, material provision etc. All this must be integrated in the planning and optimized wherever possible.

The solution we offer is a high-performance planning tool closely interconnected to an MES system: the PILOT:Advanced Planning. It provides a comprehensive production planning of all production steps and a perfect detailed scheduling. The tool integrates all service departments (e.g. maintenance) and all resources involved in the value-added process, such as equipment, operating personnel and materials. PILOT:Advanced Planning ensures a transparent detailed planning by showing the entire production in the current status and providing a forecast.

The detailed planning system uses bidirectional communication to transfer planned order start times to an MES or other production system. The user terminals and subsystems are permanently provided with current data in real time. Another benefit: You can upload planning changes to the ERP system to support this process.
